Nav has worked as an Audiologist for the past 25 years. He was born in India, but has lived in Canada for last 50 years. He now lives in Newcastle Ontario with his wife and family.
Nav attended the University of Guelph B.Sc. as well as Idaho State University for his Master’s in Audiology
He spent 4-5 years working in large teaching Hospitals including, Toronto General, Mount Sinai and Sunny Brook.
The following 2-3 years he worked for others in private practices’. After that he worked for 4-5 years as an Industry Representative before becoming the owner of Professional Hearing Services and Hogan’s Hearing Aid Centre.
Nav is a member of the College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
Audiologist, Certified with SAC
Karin is a mom of 3 loves to bake, hike, travel and be creative. She also maintains a healthy lifestyle.
Karin has a B.Sc. degree from U of T. She also completed a Specialist program in Nutritional Sciences and a minor in Linguistics. Karin received her M.Sc. degree from UBC for Audiology and is a Certified Audiologist, Aud (C ), with SAC (Speech-Language and Audiology Canada)
Being in this profession since 1996, Karin has worked in private practice in Toronto from 1996- 2002 with primarily pediatrics. As well as Co-owning her own private practice clinic in Cobourg from 2002-2015 (primarily geriatric), she has worked in ENT clinics for various Doctors and Specialists.
Karin has been with Professional Hearing Services since June 2016.
Hearing Instrument Specialist
Christina is from Bowmanville, Ontario
She has worked at our Bowmanville, Newcastle and Scarborough locations. For the first 2 years, Christina has worked at Professional Hearing Services as a CDA (Communicative disorders assistant), while taking the H.I.S. course.
Christina graduated from the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science, and then continued her education at Durham College to become a CDA. She then graduated from Grant MacEwan University as a Hearing Aid Practitioner.
As a Hearing Instrument Specialist, Christina hopes to “help to improve the hearing of our clients through counseling, amplification and assistive listening devices by conducting hearing tests, fit hearing aids and finding solutions for hearing aid problems”
Elisabeth is an individual who enjoys using her skills in everyday life. She loves being an “Oma” and playing with her grandkids. She loves a challenge and being active.
After graduating high school, Elisabeth received her Business Degree from Sir Sanford Fleming for Accounting, followed by Advanced Business Consultant Certification from Confederation College.
Elisabeth has been in the bookkeeping business for over 20 years, her experience includes, Loan Officer Collection, Administrator, Small Business Consultant, Insurance and Ministry of Finance.
She has worked with Professional Hearing Services for over 11 years now, making sure all accounts and business operations run efficiently.
Teri is a family focused individual and a travel enthusiast. Proud Grammie of 3 Baby Grands; Elijah, Ava and Noah.
She Attended CLC and Durham College, studied Accounting, Business Applications, Computer Programming and Web Design and Development.
Teri has worked in customer service and sales most of her life, either in retail management or in one of several family businesses. She has been employed with Hogan’s Hearing Aid Centre for 15 years. Her role at the front desk is to welcome clients and provide them with service, information and direction. She works diligently to keep daily operations running smoothly and efficiently, and keeping the clients smiling.
Teri is a proud Lions Service Club member and enjoys supporting the community with her time and efforts.
Bonita loves the summertime and finds there is nothing better than reading a book, swimming, or gardening while tanning in the back yard.
Bonita is a certified Personal Support Worker and is also First Aid/ CPR certified.
She has worked for Professional Hearing Services for 10 years but has worked in this profession for 15. In that time she has met all kinds of very nice people and feels it has been a good experience and a great feeling when we can help with their hearing needs.
As an Administrative Secretary Bonita has many important tasks, which include booking hearing test appointments, billing Insurance companies, completing Government forms, as well as entering receivables and payables. Also answering the phones and help patients with concerns and questions is an important part of her duties.
Andrea Torrey Balsara
Andrea is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator (www.torreybalsara.com) and has also recently “retired” as a stay-at-home-mom, as her youngest has gone off to university. In the past, she worked as an Amercian Sign Language interpreter, which is how she met Nav. Over the years, she has watched (with pride!) as Nav’s businesses have grown, and she is pleased to finally have the time to help out in the offices. In addition to her part-time work with Professional Hearing Services, Andrea is an avid environmentalist and amateur naturalist, a mental health advocate, and a public speaker.
University of Toronto graduate – Hons. Bsc, majors in Psychology and Linguistics. Communicative Disorders Assistant Certificate from Durham College. Worked for many years as a Communicative Disorders Assistant performing Speech and language therapy and longed for the opportunity to work more in Audiology. Professional Hearing Services is a great place to work. I have learned so much in the short time that I have been here and I keep learning more each day. I enjoy meeting, interacting, assisting and providing services to our clients who are of such diverse background. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my two little girls
